Although contemporary, the house has a very Provençal feel due to the rugged landscape immediately around the property. The grounds give onto vast open and hilly spaces. There are two terraces, one around the pool area at the lower level of the house and a large terrace for outdoor meals on the middle level of the house. There are a shower and a wc by the infinity swimming pool which is set in pleasant teak decking. The pool is heated to 23°C free of charge between 1st May and 1st October, weather permitting.
Please note: Barbecues and outside fires are officially forbidden in the area for the rest of the season.
The contemporary interior is of the highest quality, and is equipped and decorated with many top designer items. It was featured in a major article in the French magazine 'Le Journal de la Maison' in their July/August 2010 edition.
The villa has 3 levels, all accessible from the outside as it is built on the side of a hill. The lower level, which opens out onto the pool area (a little lower down, reached by a set of steps) consists of a double bedroom (160cm bed) with an en suite bathroom with a separate shower unit, a twin bedroom (90cm beds) with an en suite shower room, and two separate wcs. The middle level is the main living area, a wonderful open-plan space with a spacious living room to one side, a fantastic kitchen overlooking the dining area, and a separate wc. The upper level contains a double bedroom (160cm bed) with an en suite bathroom, a bedroom with two single beds (90cm beds) with an adjacent shower room with wc, and a separate wc. The villa is air-conditioned and all the rooms have wonderful views towards the Mediterranean.

The Mediterranean coastline of the Var region enjoys 430km of sandy beaches, hidden coves sheltered by pine groves, and some of the most enjoyable resorts in the heart of the Côte d’Azur. Although the experience can be somewhat fraught in the summer months, if you can brave the crowds there are delightful towns all along the coast and inland. St-Tropez was a sleepy fishing village until the 1930s when its magical coastal light was discovered by artists, to be followed several decades later by the international jet set. Nowadays it is one of many Côte d’Azur resorts seeing the rich and famous from all over pitching up in their super yachts. Ste-Maxime faces St-Tropez across its harbour, and has a fine beach; Fréjus and St-Raphaël are pleasantly tranquil, overlooked by the lovely rugged scenery of the Massif de l’Esterel. The arrière-pays (inland), is a rich tapestry of beautiful hilltop villages: Seillans, Fayence, Bargemon, Mons. Inland, are the valley towns of Draguignan, Lorgues and the beautiful Abbaye du Thoronet.

What I particularly appreciated about the villa was it was also the owner's home so didn't feel like a rental. It had beautiful very stylish furniture, modern artwork and sculptures. We all have beautiful homes but even still Vue Mer was an absolute treat and hugely appreciated and enjoyed by all. During the 3 weeks we only ventured out to St Tropez 2 days and for dinner out only 2 nights! The rest of the time we enjoyed the villa.
Excellent location, facilities etc. Very good, friendly attention from caretakers, very helpful and they did rectify issues drawn to their attention, although the shutter problem appeared 'terminal'.

A great opportunity to enjoy peace and quiet up in the hills close to the bustling coast. The house has an exceptionally well-conceived contemporary interior.
