This imposing 16th century château was converted into a hotel 15 years ago and offers good facilities. It is located in the picturesque and mountainous landscape of the Ariège in the central Pyrénées, just under 2km from the small attractive town of St-Girons with all shops and services, a Saturday market and summer festivals. The stunning Cité de St-Lizier with its beautiful cathedral and cloister is just 2km from St-Girons.

The owner of the property can organise various outings for our clients; he offers his services as a guide whether you want to climb a rock-face just 700m away, take wonderful walks and picnics in the woods and lakes, or go on a tour of local Romanesque churches. The Baup River runs alongside the property and offers trout fishing and swimming. Horse riding can be found at 500m and bicycle hire is possible at St-Girons. There is an 18 hole golf course at La Bastide de Sérou (25km), and river swimming at La Salat (15km). Toulouse is 100km to the north.

The interior is very spacious and comfortable and incorporates a mixture of styles (Louis XV, Empire). Each bedroom is decorated differently. On the ground floor are a marble-floor entrance, two separate wcs, a sitting/TV room leading to a terrace overlooking the river, a study, a dining room (18 adults max.), a large well-equipped professional kitchen and a laundry room.

On the first floor are a living room with a baby grand piano, three bedrooms each with one double bed and one single bed, one twin bedroom and a separate wc. On the second floor are three double bedrooms, two twin bedrooms and one bedroom with three single beds (for children). All bedrooms except one have en suite facilities, either with a bath or a shower and with a wc.

Caution must be taken with small children due to the proximity of the river (low wall alongside) and the road.
