Recently built in stone in typical provençal style, this unusual house is set on a hillside 800m from the small village of Mérindol-les-Oliviers (no shops) in the Mont-Ventoux region of Provence. It is 4km from Puyméras, where there are some shops and a bakery, and 12km from Vaison-la-Romaine, where all shops and services can be found, as well as a public tennis court, horse riding, a selection of good restaurants, and a Tuesday market.

There is a Thursday market at Nyons (17km), a 9 hole golf course at Orange (48km), and three 18 hole golf courses near Avignon (55km). Orange, Aix-en-Provence, and Avignon are lively and beautiful towns full of history and the arts, as well as fine shops, restaurants, and markets.

The interior is very comfortable and functional. It is furnished with good quality furniture in a mixture of modern and period pieces, and decorated with taste. The very large living/dining area has a large picture window with superb views. There are one twin bedroom and one double bedroom on the ground floor as well as a shower room and a separate wc.

The staircase to the first floor, although not steep, is not protected, so care must be taken with children. Upstairs, the master bedroom is very large, and has an en suite bathroom with a separate shower unit and a wc, and opens onto a covered terrace overlooking the valley.
