This is the property dreams are made of. The interior is furnished with impeccable taste and the views are stunning from both the pool and the tennis court. The most famous of provençal villages are just a short drive away. |

Location |
Beautifully restored and decorated, this ancient sheepfold lies in a quiet hamlet within a short drive of shops and restaurants at Cabrières-d'Avignon (1.5km) and close to the picturesque village of Gordes (4km) and the many pretty villages dotted around the Lubéron Valley. This property is close to the charming market towns of Cavaillon (14km), with its ancient cathedral, Apt (25km) and and is within easy driving distance of the medieval papal capital, Avignon (33km). The best bakery of the area (almond croissants to die for) is at Cabrières, a 20 minute walk from the house. The closest supermarket is at Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (14km), famous for its lively antiques market.
There are bike hire and a Sunday market in Coustellet (2km), and an 18 hole golf course at Saumane-de-Vaucluse (11km). There are beautiful beaches all along the Mediterranean coast with the closest in Carry-le-Rouet (88km), Marseille (89km), Sausset-les-Pins (93km) and La Couronne (97km). |
| |
Exterior |
Set in extensive grounds of 3 hectares of which one consists of landscaped gardens, the property enjoys a peaceful location and wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. It is surrounded by lavender and olive trees and boasts two original "bories" (small sheepfolds built of stone without mortar and probably dating to the 18th century), which are numbered and classified. There are lovely views from the private tennis court.
The pool house contains a summer kitchen, dining for 12 persons, a barbecue, a shower and a wc. There is a charge of 210 Euros per week to heat the pool to 23°C, weather permitting. This is payable locally. |
| |
Interior |
The interior is spacious, bright, elegant and of a high standard. The house is set out in two parts. The main house has the living areas on the ground floor, a well-equipped kitchen, a double bedroom and a twin bedroom each with an en suite bathroom, a single bedroom ideal for an au pair and a shower room with a wc on the other side of the kitchen.
On the first floor of the main house are a study, a double bedroom opening onto a terrace with lovely views, a large shower room and a separate wc. A wing of the building is self-contained with a kitchen, a double bedroom with an en suite shower room with a wc, and a twin bedroom on the first floor (ideal for children).
