The location of this small manor house built in the early 16th century is superb - it is set in 2.5 hectares of grounds, with a small river running through it, at the heart of the Marais du Cotentin and the Bessin Regional Nature parks. Many wonderful walks can be taken to discover a great wealth and variety of endemic plants and animal species that have achieved recognition at European and international levels. La Haye du Puits is the closest town (5km) to offer all shops and services as well as a tennis court. The hamlet of Doville is within walking distance and has no shops. There is a 9 hole golf course 20km away at Barneville-Carteret and two 18 hole courses 30km and 40km away (Agon-Coutainville and Cherbourg). The landing beaches at Utah are close by (30km), as well as the war museums at Caen and Ste-Mère-l'Eglise). There are sandy beaches at St-Rémy-des-Landes (11km) and Denneville (14km).

Nearby are 11th century ruins at Lithaire (5km) and a beautiful 14th century castle at St Sauveur-le-Viconte (5km), in addition to several interesting abbeys. There are many pretty ports and sandy beaches along the coast (12km), and many botanical gardens to visit in the area.

The property enjoys a lovely location in the hollow of a valley, a historical and legendary site where the first owners fought wars of religion until 1597 when the last nobleman to inhabit the manor house was executed. The property has been in the same family for four generations. All its beautiful features have recently been completely restored to their original stone walls, a thatched roof and a corner tower with openings for shooting arrows and throwing boiling oil.

The owner can provide horse riding lessons or outings at Easter and in the summer - payable locally. Between May and September, horse-driven cart rides around the Parc Régional that surrounds the property are also possible. And fishing permits are offered free of charge (at certain times of year only).

The interior has been beautifully furnished and decorated with respect for the styles of the 16th and 17th centuries and with a high level of comfort. Much attention has been paid to detail with many features restored to their original appearance, such as the internal shutters and the wrought-iron artwork of the windows. On the ground floor are a living room with a wonderful Louis XIV fireplace dating from the 18th century, a dining room with a 16th century granite fireplace and a well-equipped kitchen. Also on the ground floor are a twin bedroom with two additional children's beds (up to 6 years) and an en suite bathroom with a wc set in the tower.

On the first floor are two twin bedrooms sharing a bathroom with a wc, and a twin bedroom with an additional folding bed and an en suite bathroom with a wc built in the tower - from here one can admire the ceiling of the original framework of the dovecote.

N.B. All the twin bedrooms consist of two single beds side by side. The laundry room in located in an outbuilding.
