In a peaceful location near the medieval village of Issigeac (5km), this 18th century Périgourdine house has been beautifully restored with the most authentic materials. Issigeac is a lovely village with shops and a very good restaurant, a Sunday morning market and tennis courts. The lively town of Bergerac with its lovely old quarter is 23km away. Many excursions can be taken from here both to the heart of the Dordogne and south in the Lot-et-Garonne.

The vineyards of Monbazillac and Bergerac are close by. There is horse riding, bicycle hire, and horse and carriage hire at Faux (7km), and 9 and 18 hole golf courses at Mouleydier (12km) and at Monestier (26km). There is a leisure lake at Lanquais (8km) and river swimming at Trémolat (27km) in the Dordogne River. Lovely walks can be taken from the house.

The house is set in a very pleasant and peaceful 3/4 acre garden opening onto 25 acres of grounds with lovely views of the surrounding fields and woods. The swimming pool is surrounded by attractive decking. A large covered terrace with a small outdoor kitchen (built-in barbecue, fridge, sink) overlooks the pool and another terrace under trees at the front of the house is another pleasant spot for eating outside.

The interior is comfortable and had retained the charm of an old farmhouse, with a large central living/dining area complemented by beautiful beams and stone walls, a large fireplace and french doors on two sides. Also on the ground floor are a spacious well-equipped kitchen with a dining table, a large double bedroom with an en suite bathroom with a wc at one end, two further smaller double bedrooms each with an en suite shower room, and a separate wc (accessed via saloon doors). On the first floor a large landing leads to a shower room, a separate wc, and two large bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with two small double beds.
