This stunning "maison forte" is a classified national monument dating back to the 11th and 14th centuries. Its history boasts the siege of Simon de Montfort in 1213 and regular visits by the Duchesse of Berry. It is ideally located on the borders of the Tarn-et-Garonne and the Lot-et-Garonne, 36km northeast of Agen, 20km southeast of Villeneuve-sur-Lot and 64km northwest of Montauban. The small village of Valeilles is 1.5km away, and all basic shops can be found at Dausse (4km), Roquecor (7km) and Montaigu-de-Quercy (10km), all charming villages. Market days are Saturdays at Montaigu and Sundays at Roquecor.

There is a public tennis court in Valeilles, bicycle hire and a leisure lake at Montaigu, horse riding at St Beauzeil (3.5km). Swimming is possible 5km away in the Lot River. There are various golf courses nearby, notably at Agen.

The interior contains impressive medieval and renaissance furniture combined with all modern amenities.
