Location

At the foot of the pretty hilltop village of Mons, this old stone farmhouse has been beautifully restored. Mons (4km) has spectacular views and offers basic shops, cafés and restaurants, a tennis court and horse riding. This is a wonderful area for discovering the many attractive small towns and villages close by – Seillans, Fayence (market 3 times a week), Callian, Montauroux (all shops and services, bike hire) – all within 18km of the property.

Bathing, windsurfing and fishing are possible on the Lake of St-Cassien (21km), and bathing and fishing on the River Siagne (3km). The interesting perfume town of Grasse is only 26km away. There is a picturesque drive down to the sandy beaches of Mandelieu (39km) and there are two luxurious 18 hole golf courses 18km away - one at the Château de Taulane and the Four Seasons at Terre Blanche.

Exterior

Narrow lanes lead to the property which is set in a residential and peaceful area. The pretty garden covers 1000sqm within substantial private grounds (7000sqm) which boast 65 olive trees (the olives are pressed in the autumn), fig trees, pink laurels and herbs. Other houses can be seen but they do not overlook the pool and garden. There is a very pleasant covered terrace ideal for outdoor meals and lovely views of the surrounding hilly countryside. A low wall encloses the property.

Interior

The decoration and furnishings are very much in keeping with the feel of this very provençal house. The thick walls keep out the heat in the summer. The house is set on the side of a hill with one entrance at garden level which contains a living room, a dining room and an attractive well-equipped kitchen.

Another entrance is at ground level and opens onto a sitting room with a double sofabed which in turn leads to an ante-room with a single sofabed (and an suite bathroom with a separate shower and a wc) with stairs up to a mezzanine with a double bed. Also off the hallway is a double bedroom with an en suite bathroom with a half-size bath and a wc. On the first floor are a double bedroom and a bathroom with a wc.

The pretty garden house, originally used for processing cherries, consists of a large room with a double bed as you enter and an arch leading to a smaller room with a single bed, a shower room and a separate wc.

Occupancy is limited to 9 persons.
