Located in Roussillon at the heart of the Luberon and in one of its most sought-after villages, this charming traditional village house offers the best of Provence. Roussillon is a beautiful hilltop village built in local ochre stone taken from remarkable protected quarries that can be visited nearby. The village bakery and grocer's are 100m further up from the house, and there is a good selection of cafés and restaurants as well as a weekly market (Thursdays). The typical villages of Gordes, Bonnieux, Ménerbes and Lacoste, to name just a few, are all within easy reach (18km radius) and have markets all year round. L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (28km) has a famous antiques market. The closest town is Apt (12km) which offers all services in a charming Provençal setting.

Many marked walks can be taken from the village of Roussillon and there are also various cycling tracks. Canoeing is possible in the picturesque medieval village of Fontaine-de-Vaucluse (27km). Bike hire is possible at Bonnieux (14km) and Coustellet (18km) (bikes can be delivered to the house), horse riding at Joucas (5.5km) and Apt (12km), tennis in a hotel in the village or at Joucas (5.5km). There is a 19 hole golf course at Saumane-de-Vaucluse (27km) and a leisure lake (water sports, no swimming) near Apt.

The house is located just 50m from the market square, a third of a way up into the village on a side street. Parking is possible in a section of a car park reserved for local residents 25m from the house. The living room opens onto a large terrace ideal for outdoor meals (table for 8) which leads up to a smaller upper terrace (table for 6) which commands beautiful panoramic views across the ochre hills. The swimming pool is a little lower down overlooking the lower terrace; it has a ledge on one side approximately 1.5m from the edge and underwater lighting. It can can be heated to 26°C free of charge, weather permitting. There is space for loungers on two sides of the pool.
