Location

This fabulous property encloses a classic 18th century Aixoise 'Maison de Maître' just 6km from Eguilles (all shops and services and supermarket). It is conveniently located 8km northwest of Aix-en-Provence, an attractive and lively town of ‘a thousand fountains’ with a daily food market, a general market on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays (clothes, flowers, antiques), an antique book market on the first Sunday of each month, and many cultural festivals throughout the year.

There is a leisure lake for swimming (Lac du Plantain) at Peyrolles-en-Provence (28km) with pedaloes, table tennis and beach volley ball. There is an 18 hole golf course close to the property (2.5km) and another one at Les Milles (6.5km). There are beautiful beaches all along the Mediterranean coast with the closest in Marseille (35km), Carry-le-Rouet (44km), Sausset-les-Pins (49km), La Couronne (52km), Cassis (55km) and La Ciotat (57km). The Montagne Sainte Victoire (17km) has inspired many artists: Cézanne, Picasso, Kandinsky, and is a very popular place for walking and climbing, There are many theme parks for children around Aix, such as Aquacity, OK Corral, the Zoo de la Barden.

The peaks of the La Croix de Provence (altitude 946m) command fantastic views and are reached 22km from the villa via a famous path, the "sentier des Venturiers" between Aix and Vauvenargues. The Pic des Mouches (altitude 1011m) and La Chapelle de St-Ser offer some of the most beautiful panoramas of Provence (both 42km away).

Exterior

The setting of the property is stunning, with 10 hectares of beautiful grounds including orchards and olive groves (1000 trees, young and old). There are many spots in various areas of the grounds from which to enjoy the far-reaching views.

The charming pool house has a sofa, a fridge, a shower and a wc. The pool is heated to 25°C free of charge, weather permitting.

The charming caretaker and his wife live on site but do not intrude on clients' privacy.

Interior

The spacious proportions of the interior have been respected in the high quality renovation. The furnishings are very comfortable and tasteful with many interesting decorative pieces. A beautiful entrance leads to a comfortable living room, a large dining room, a well-equipped kitchen, and a separate wc.

On the first floor are two double bedrooms, a twin bedroom, one bathroom and one shower room each with a wc. On the second floor are two double bedrooms, two twin bedrooms (one is more suitable for children), one bathroom and one shower room each with a wc.

Occupancy is limited to 14 persons.
