Dominique says...

This property should be our mascot - quite a classic with a wonderful personality. I sent our first clients there 24 years ago and it improves every year. The owners continue to put their heart and soul into it.

Location

This is a charming, restored old farmhouse set in beautiful, hilly countryside on the southwestern borders of the Dordogne, about one and a half hours by car from Bordeaux. The lovely little village of Dieulivol is situated 2km away, and Monségur, with all shopping facilities, tennis courts and Thursday and Friday markets, is at 5km. Duras (9km) has an interesting castle, restaurants, a Monday market, extensive sports facilities and produces very good wine. There is a leisure lake of Castelgaillard (14km) with swimming, kayaking, fishing, pedaloes, huge water slides, archery, horse riding and crazy golf.

Exterior

The property is set in over 10 hectares of private grounds and overlooks vineyards and orchards. The living quarters are located in the main building which opens onto a beautiful secluded garden enclosing a swimming pool. Among the attractive features of the property are the two picturesque pigeonniers (dovecotes - out of use) situated on either side of the house and pool. Part of a barn has been converted into a very pleasant playroom with table tennis.

There is a charge of £100 per week to heat the pool to 25°C, weather permitting.

Interior

The interior is tastefully decorated with a mixture of styles and comfortably furnished. The large kitchen with a dining area opening onto the garden has a fireplace which also serves the attractive living room. On the ground floor are two double bedrooms, one with an en suite shower room and a wc, another with an en suite bathroom with a separate shower and a wc, a twin bedroom with an en suite shower room with a wc, a bathroom and a separate wc. Upstairs is a converted attic consisting of a double bedroom with an en suite bathroom, a separate wc, and a charming children's room with a spacious play area and five single beds.

Occupancy is limited to 10 persons.
