Location

Located 5km from the picturesque village of Cajarc in the lower Lot River Valley, this is our most unusual property: a windmill, originally constructed in 1797, fully restored and recently renovated to provide unique and pleasant holiday accommodation. Cajarc has all shopping facilities, as well as a tennis court and horse riding. The beautiful Lot valley is nearby with small villages perched on imposing cliffs.

Exterior

The windmill is set on a hilltop in an acre of sunny garden within grounds of 7.5 acres, and commands lovely views over the rolling countryside. There is a large swimming pool with a spacious poolside terrace with a solar-heated outdoor shower. The owners occupy a cottage on the grounds and occasionally use the pool (further details on request).

Interior

The mill is simply furnished and the interior is small, but has a great deal of character, with wood beams and many features of the original windmill structure still in place. Each floor contains one room (diameter: 4.2m). On the ground floor is a kitchen with a dining table; on the first floor are a double bedroom and a shower room with a wc; the top floor is particularly interesting with the framework and beams of the windmill roof enclosing the sitting room with a double sofabed. Accommodation is recommended for 2 adults, but one or two small children would also be accepted (except in the winter).
