One way of reducing stress is to use First Luggage, a new service that undertakes to collect and deliver your luggage direct to any European destination, including, specifically, your villa location.
First Luggage provides a unique tracking number for each suitcase and scans luggage six times during transit, reducing the risk of lost items. The service is supported by FED EX. Items are picked up the day before you travel and delivered on your arrival day, then collected on the day of departure for delivery back to your home 24 hours later.
The main advantage of the service is that it enables passengers to check in much later with hand-luggage only and to avoid waiting at baggage reclaim points, thereby saving an hour or two each way on the journey times. Although the price per suitcase weighing a maximum of 30 kilos of up to £175.00 return is not cheap, by sending a very large, heavy suitcase by this method, it can lead to comparable savings elsewhere. You may well be able to reduce the size of a rental car needed on the holiday if your largest suitcase does not have to travel with your party.
It is also a useful service for items you might otherwise decide were impossible to take on holiday. For example, at a cost of about £100.00 you could have a baby’s pram collected and delivered, a cost many young parents might feel well worth the added convenience.
