Contrary to popular belief, there are a few electrical goods priced lower in France than in England. Digital movie cameras, for example, are a better buy across the Channel.
The biggest bargain, however, remains alcohol, especially at the Cité Europe shopping mall not far from the French side of the Channel Tunnel. Here Tesco sells practically no food and almost every drink under the sun. The bill at Cité Europe, even in the bars, is always presented in both sterling and Euros as on most days there are more British people shopping than French.
