Of the principal carriers to French airports, only Air France will sometimes allow you to take your cat or dog on board. The animal must be small enough (if larger, it must go as cargo) to fit into a container with air holes, to be placed under your seat, and he or she will have to stay put throughout the flight.
British Airways, Flybe and Thomson Fly accept cats and dogs as cargo, in partitioned, air-conditioned sections. BMI Baby, EasyJet, Jet2 and Ryanair do not take animals at all. That said, no airline will guarantee acceptance of a cat or dog it has not seen, and the transport of animals as cargo will not normally be confirmed until two weeks before departure date.
You will need to arrive at the airport about two hours ahead of the standard check-in time. All animals are subject to the same rules as those travelling by ferry or on the Shuttle.
