Services run on a nearly daily basis overnight from CALAIS to BRIVE/TOULOUSE/NARBONNE and AVIGNON/ST-RAPHAEL/NICE between mid May and mid September, up to 3 times a week.
Passengers put their own car on the motorail wagons that run behind the coaches with sleeping compartments or couchettes. Trains leave early evening, travel overnight, and arrive at your chosen destination the following day. Breakfast is provided. When offset by the saving in hotel rooms, restaurant meals, motorway tolls, petrol, and wear and tear on driver and vehicle alike, motorail represents good value for money and ensures a painless start and finish to the holiday. Vehicle loading typically commences 2 to 3 hours prior to the departure time. Exact loading times will be confirmed on your travel documents. Please check loading times carefully to ensure that you arrive in good time.
Children: Prices are for a cabin inclusive of the maximum number of occupants (adults or children). Two children aged up to 8 years may share a berth, but a maximum of one berth per cabin can be shared.
Catering Complimentary breakfast vouchers are supplied to all French Motorail customers. These vouchers can be exchanged for a continental breakfast upon arrival at the destination terminal. Customers travelling in sleeper accommodation may purchase tea and coffee from the attendant in their carriage.
Bicycles A maximum of 2 bicycles can be carried free of charge on specially designed racks, provided that the maximum height and width restrictions are not exceeded. In all other cases, bicycles must be carried inside the vehicle.
Trailers, roof boxes and windsurfers Please advise at time of booking if you intend to transport a trailer, a roof box or a windsurfer. Rates are available on request.
Maximum vehicle dimensions Vehicles must comply with manufacturers' specifications and must be in good order. Cars are acceptable on Motorail provided they do not exceed the following dimensions: Maximum overall height including roof rack: 1.63m (5'4 1/2"); Maximum width: 2.5m (8'2"); Maximum length: 5.10m (16'5"); Minimum ground clearance: 0.10m. For example, Jeeps, people carriers and Campervans are not accepted.
