Late Bookings
Many people find it difficult to book their holiday months in advance. If you do decide to book your holiday at the last minute, we can arrange this with speed and accuracy within days of the departure date.
Special Requirements
If you have any special requirements (related to allergies, disabilities, etc) please discuss them with us at the time of booking.
Travel Documents
Before your departure we will send you a comprehensive Travel Pack. This will include a local Michelin map, detailed information on how to reach your villa, arrangements to collect keys, the name and address of the local contact responsible for the property and other relevant details. All this information is sent in good faith and comes directly from local tourist offices or suppliers.
House Occupancy
Maximum occupancy figures cannot be exceeded. Additional infants are possible on request. If an exception is possible, a written agreement will be necessary. If it is exceeded owners reserve the right at any time during the rental period, either not to accept any additional persons or to charge a supplement. Camping is not permitted under any circumstances on the grounds of the properties.
Welcome Pack
We encourage our owners to supply a welcome pack which can vary in contents. However, in some cases, circumstances do not allow for a welcome pack to be provided.
Rental Duration
Your time of arrival must be between 16.00hrs and 19.00hrs. We cannot guarantee access outside these times. If it is not possible for any reason to make arrangements for a late arrival, you will be obliged to carry the cost of alternative accommodation. You must vacate the property by 10.00hrs, leaving it in a good state of cleanliness and repair for the incoming tenants, and return the keys to the keyholder. Changeovers are on Saturdays but may be flexible at certain times of year.
Security Authorization
Whether booking online or by phone, you will be required to give credit card authorization for debiting your account if any of the following circumstances should apply:
Breakages: Owners and keyholders are requested to contact us within 7 days of your departure if breakages have occurred. Clients will be advised of this immediately, but there may be some delay in receiving the corresponding invoice or confirmation in writing from the owner.
Cleaning: Although we include basic cleaning between rentals, properties must be left in a good state of cleanliness. Failure to do this will involve extra cleaning costs which will be estimated by the owner or keyholder and charged to you. For further information on cleaning, please see cleaning under "Facilities at our villas".
Linen: If linen hire charges that are payable locally are not settled by you before departure, they will be charged to you on your return.
Heating: Heating of houses depends on weather conditions and individual taste. You can request that your villa be heated, and the cost (which will depend on your consumption of gas, wood, electricity, fuel oil, etc.) will be chargeable to you within one month of your departure from the villa.
Telephone: Most of our properties offer the use of a telephone. If you require one, this must be indicated on your booking form. Charges can take up to 3 months to come through to us if there is no meter on the telephone. If there is a meter, you are requested to settle the bill before leaving the property. If you have not requested a telephone but used it during your stay, the corresponding bill will be chargeable to you.
Animals and insects
We cannot be held responsible for the appearance of mice, ants, bats or other insects and animals in a property. This is not unusual in the countryside and may occur in any rural environment. Should you encounter this type of problem during your stay, the owner, keyholder or agent will take appropriate action as soon as he has been advised of it. However, in some cases the problem may not be easily nor completely eradicated and cannot be expected to be.
In the Heart of the Country
Country properties bring with them many pleasures, and unexpected surprises too. For those who do not hail from a rural area, it needs to be said that country life may not be the picture of perfection you envisage. Although you are on holiday, those around you may well be at work. Farmers have a habit of driving their tractors - even in the road. Cows have a habit of going to be milked - usually in herds. Dogs do bark, cocks do crow and the cherished decibels of the local moped may well be heard arriving from a town two miles away. Yes, there are spiders in the country and no, not all rodents have gone to Hamelin for their holidays!
But this is part of pastoral life and we are sure that none of it will detract from the enjoyment you will experience. Our older properties are picturesque but they are mostly too old to have damp courses. Signs of damp may appear after bad weather but this is remedied by ventilation. Old buildings do need to breathe and remember, during hot weather, windows should be left open and shutters kept closed.
