A classic 18th century "Gentilhommière" (Manor House), this characterful property enjoys an unique location, close to many picturesque villages dotted along the Dordogne River. Siorac is just 4.5km away and offers shops and services including a supermarket. The pretty town of Belvès is at 8km and St-Cyprien at 11km. The many prehistoric sites of the Dordogne Valley are also close by, as are its imposing châteaux. In the summer there are many night markets and fêtes in the local villages, and particularly in the beautiful town of Sarlat (31km). You will find morning markets in most of the surrounding villages on different days of week.

Horse riding and river fishing are possible in Siorac, bike hire in Belvès, and there are tennis courts in both towns. There are river swimming and canoeing in the Dordogne River at Le Buisson-de-Cadouin (11km) and at St-Cyprien. There are 9 and 18 hole golf course just 4.5km away. Marked walks abound in the area.

A pretty drive through woods belonging to the property opens its gates onto a wide terrace the length of the house. There are wonderful views from under the centenary trees where meals can be taken. The gardens are terraced in a formal French style, with a pleasing mixture of trimmed boxwood, tall reeds and roses. The grounds are vast (5 hectares) and tranquil walks can be taken from the house.

The swimming pool is located on a lower terrace away from the house as requested by the French association for the preservation of listed buildings. The grounds are spread over three terraces and there are 4 sets of steps (of approximately 10 steps each) down to the swimming pool area which can also be accessed by car. 

The interior was totally renovated in 2005. It is very comfortable and tasteful, and much attention has been paid to detail. As you enter there is a kitchen with a dining corner (seats 6) to the left and a little further on to the right a spacious dining room, a comfortable living room and a library. There is also a separate wc on this floor. The bedrooms and bathrooms are on the first floor. All the bedrooms open on to the front of the house and the views.
