Location

This truly stunning modern villa commands wonderful views of the Gulf of St-Tropez and enjoys a quiet, privileged position. It is located 6km from the medieval village of Grimaud and 4km from car-free Port-Grimaud (built in the 60s) with its canals and bridges; both villages have all shops and services, and many restaurants. There is a large commercial centre 6km away at La Foux. Lively Ste-Maxime is 9.5km away and the charming and ever-fashionable village of St-Tropez (12km) with its old quarter and Citadelle full of lively cafés and restaurants offers all services; there are markets on Tuesday and Saturday mornings. There is a particularly good market at Ramatuelle (14km) on Thursday and Sunday mornings; Ramatuelle is a picturesque medieval village in a beautiful quiet setting which contrasts nicely with the trendy coastal villages.

The beautiful Abbaye du Thoronet, a Cistercian abbey founded in the 12th century, is 46km away; it formed part of the "Three Provençal Sisters", the other two being L'Abbaye de Sénanque and the Abbaye de Silvacane. The monastery of Chartreuse de la Verne (31km) is well worth visiting for its gorgeous location and views.

Horse riding is possible in Grimaud, and bike and boat hire in Port-Grimaud. The closest sandy beaches are at Beauvallon where there is also a sailing school, and an 18 hole golf course which also houses a tennis club. There are many sandy beaches in the vicinity of Ste-Maxime and St-Tropez. Boat trips can be taken from Ste-Maxime to St-Tropez and from Ste-Maxime to the island of Porquerolles (60km).

Exterior

Although contemporary, the house has a very provençal feel due to the rugged landscape immediately around the property. The grounds give onto vast open and hilly spaces. There are two terraces, one around the pool area at the lower level of the house and a large terrace for outdoor meals on the middle level of the house. There are a shower and a wc by the infinity swimming pool which is set in pleasant teak decking.

Interior

The contemporary interior is of the highest quality, and is equipped and decorated with many top designer items. The villa has 3 levels, all accessible from the outside as it is built on the side of a hill.

The lower level, which opens out onto the pool area (a little lower down, reached by a set of steps) consists of a double bedroom with an en suite bathroom with a separate shower unit, a twin bedroom with an en suite shower room, and two separate wcs. The middle level is the main living area, a wonderful open-plan space with a spacious living room to one side, a fantastic kitchen overlooking the dining area, and a separate wc. The upper level contains a double bedroom, a bedroom with two single beds and one pair of bunk beds with an en suite bathroom, a bathroom, and a separate wc. All the rooms have wonderful views towards the Mediterranean.
